I know it’s a little late, but I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It seems like we just started The Gayly Post and rightly so, because we did. We had grand plans to work through the holidays and make sure you had all the gay news you wanted but it sort of got the best of us. Not the website mind you, but the holidays.
I have always found it difficult to focus on work during the summer months and Christmas. It’s difficult during the summer because it’s always so warm and beautiful out and there are so many things out there that I want to do. Mainly, just be out in the heat and soak up the sun. Christmas on the other hand, is cold and (usually) wet. I can’t help getting into the cheery spirit though. I absolutely love the lights, the trees, the decorations, the food and of course the cocktails.
Christmas time means so many things to so many people, but for me it’s preparing to spend time with friends and family. More often then not, it’s family. Especially those I don’t see as often as I should. I tend to be a work-a-holic so I have to make sure that I get an equal balance. As a matter of fact, it’s something that I try to maintain throughout the year.
I hope that each of you were able to set time aside and reflect on the things that really matter. No, it’s not the money, the clothes, or the job. It’s your friends, your family, and just as important, yourself.
We have a lot in store this coming year and we hope you enjoy the ride with us. Most of all, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
